Cricket

Cricket in Europe is a minor sport. Cricket at Viktoria is a tradition,innovation and cult. Cricket at Viktoria is a perfect blend of experiencing and relaxing,of meeting the challenge and respect.

In the founding statement in 1889 and in a commemorative publication marking its 25 th year of existence,it was stated that :

"The aim of the club is to develop cricket and soccer."

It is no coincidence that the word 'cricket' comes first,since the club was playing cricket before it played soccer.

And so,as the founding fathers have stipulated,the game is being played on into the 21 st Century .In July 2004 player divisions were completely reorganized and in 2005 both a junior and the first German woman's team were officially registered.

Games are played on wonderfully well-prepared fields in Olympia Park in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin-Charlottenburg,Körnerplatz (pdf) and offer the whole family a special opportunity for a both exciting and relaxing day.At the moment we play with five other cricket clubs in the Berlin Championship in the first Cricket Bundesliga which then entitiles one to take part in the German championship finals. Also we are playing the second Cricket Bundesliga with six teams.
